The Great Waters Expo Chicago was back for a second year and we were there for the ride in early February!Tom Helgeson, editor and publisher The Midwest Fly Fishing Magazine, and his staff organized a terrific expo. Featured speakers included Gary Borger, Jason Borger, Pat Ehlers, Diana Rudolph, Kevin Feenstra, Dean hansen, Kathy Scott and many local shop owners from Michigan, Illinois, Wisconsin & Minnesota.

Fly tyers were featured throughout the show as well - We saw Bear Andrews, All the “Boys” from Drift, NIFTY, the Small Mouth Alliance, Chicago Fly Fishers and so many more. The experts held tying sessions and had terrific attendance.

Local FFF volunteers helped teach and tweak over 800 casters at the casting pond. Donna P. was non-stop instructing her heart out and helping everyone that came her way.

Local shops were represented too - Orvis Chicago, One More Cast, Chicago Fly Fishing Outfitters and Coren’s.

Thanks to our rock star volunteer team of Dave Madden, Paul Melchior and Wally Bock the booth was “manned” to the hilt.�� They did their best to pass along Reeling & Healing Midwest’s message of “Fish On” to the show attendees.�� We awarded a pair of Cubs tickets to a lucky fisherman, sold our t-shirts and other fishing related items - with 100% of the proceeds going to fund this summer’s retreats.
